Robyn Welford is a 21 year old student finishing her BA(Hons) Drawing and Applied Art degree, with ambition to produce drawings on a large scale she uses subjects that have an occurance in her life for however long be, enough to make an impact on her day. This selection of subject is one of the larger concepts of her work. Robyn currently works under loose themes of portraiture, energy and ratio of occurrence. She is able to take a visual and manipulate it in order to separate certain layers which build the contours of the human face; she determines their shades, depth and structures using different efforts. Transparent Perspex is her preferred choice of medium as it accommodates for a lot of the processes she enjoys doing. Her technique and style has adapted from the layering and building of tones. This concept has lead her to develop large areas of shading, giving it a unique and interesting aesthetic and a concept of small details all joining into one energy source.
